3 Foods for Fighting Heart Disease

Keep It Beating Strong.

Heart disease is a silent killer.

Every year in the United States, 1 in 4 people who die each year die from heart disease.

In fact, the US, heart disease is the number one killer.

For both men and women.

But there are certain things that can make it even it worse.

Do you have heart disease in your family?

Do you have a heart murmur, or heart palpitations?

Do you stress out more than you smile?

Then it could be you’re even MORE likely to get heart disease.

So, what can we do, to keep our hearts in tip top shape?

Modern medicine has clearly not helped.

The simple answer is diet and exercise.

Easy for me to say, right?

But beyond diet and exercise, there are simple things that we can do, simple changes that to our diet, that can have a big impact.

And some of them even taste good!!

Here are a few of my favorite.

  1. Oranges

These babies are natural mood and immunity boosters that can pick your body up you need it most.

Oranges are PACKED with vitamin C, antioxidants, and a variety of other important vitamins.

But while lots of people know about the power of oranges and Vitamin C, you might not know that oranges also contain a TON of nutrients that can help fight off heart disease.

Oranges contain pectin, which works to absorb the cholesterol you consume..

Oranges are also a great source of potassium, which, when you get your daily fill, can help keep your cholesterol and blood sugar in balance.

So, remember when your mom gave your orange slices after the big game?

She was also looking out for your heart!!

  1. Kale

Kale is one of those greens that is packed with nutrients.

It is filled with fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E and plenty of antioxidants.

All of which can help your heart.

So, enjoy kale raw or cooked.

Kale is extremely easy to cook with and can be a delicious, nutrient-packed ingredient to use with any meal throughout the day.

Put some kale in a salad, or inside of a turkey sandwich.

Saute kale to serve alongside dinner, or simply mix it into your scrambled eggs.

  1. CHOCOLATE!!!!

The good news is that chocolate is CHOCK FULL of nutrients that are good for your health in general, and great for your heart in particular.

The bad news is, it’s probably NOT the chocolate that you are eating.

Cocoa, the stuff that makes chocolate chocolate, is filled with antioxidants.

Antioxidants, along with all of their other benefits, are key to heart health.

The problem is, the type of chocolate that you are likely eating, milk chocolate, contains only a small amount of cocoa.

And instead is filled with sugar.

Not good.

Instead of eating milk chocolate, trying the deep, dark chocolate.

Look for 80% (or more) pure cocoa on the label.

Especially when sweetened naturally, with Stevia.

You deserve to not just feel great today.

You deserve to feel your very best every day.

So, focus on the foods you eat today, and improve your future tomorrow.

Thanks again!!
